Design Chick's Blogaboo!

Posted on: August 20, 2010

In case you didn’t know it is Laura’s Birthday this Sunday.  Laura will be turning 25 which is kind of a big deal.

I would like to dedicate the next month of blog posts to Laura.  Laura is a friend and a scholar.

This is the ending of Laura’s all-time favourite movie.  Happy birthday laura!

Happy B-day Laura!! Woot!

Is that really Laura’s favourite movie? I can’t imagine there being 2 people in the world that like Mac and Me as much as you do.

BTW: This post inspired me to look up Mac & Me. The kid in it is now a photographer/designer:

OH my goodness gracious!! I feel like I’ve been touched by an angel. Eric from Mac & Me is not only a photographer, but he is also a graphic designer. We lived separate lives (although I feel like we were very close growing up) and we ended up doing the same thing! I actually want to start a flash mob dance in McDonalds to celebrate!!!

HAPPY B-DAY LORELAI!!! wait, I’m older than you?! Well, as someone 7 months older than you, let me prepare you for 25. At first, you might have a quarter life crisis which might push you to make rash decisions, (DON’T GET A TRIBAL TATTOO, get a neck tattoo that says thug life, it’s classier) I mean you’ll soon realize that in 5 years you’ll be 30!! (oh noes high school reunion time) and add on another 20 years you’ll be 50!!! (there’s more to this this post than my amazing math skills) Scary stuff I know, but don’t panick.

You’re a full fledged adult now! Rejoice! There are perks such as your car insurance rates dropping, umm…you’ve experienced cool stuff from the 80’s and early 90’s like sega genesis, black Michael Jackson, Save by the Bell (not the new class that shit was awful son), fresh prince, glow in the dark L.A gears, and full house (apparently, Stephany is a crack head now, rude). You were there when Saturday morning cartoon used to be amazing.

In addition, you could probably get a senior citizen discount on your metropass if you tried. Oh and you can now yell comments at teenagers such as “GET OFF MY LAWN” “TURN OFF THAT UNHOLY MUSIC” and my personal favorite “I KNEW BETTY WHITE IN HIGH SCHOOL, SHE WAS A BITCH”. And now you’re at the cut off age limit for every “must look like a teen” audition (better hurry up with that glee audition tape, you’re not getting any younger). Now you can look back on your glory days ans smile, like when you were in a beauty pageant (what happened to big Laura? I forgot to take her with me, hmm I guess a lock of your hair will do). Lastly, you still have 5 more years to mock older people like…Hazel McCallion? See, 25 is full of win.

Anyways, I hope you had a great weekend full of laughs, awkward moments and deadpan stares. I wonder what type of cake you got in the office. Was it cheese cake? I love cheese cake.
p.s: I miss you guys 🙂

Cold regards,
Harry Joe
